Courtney is a licensed optician, and a resident of Chardon.

She is the Manager at Geneva Optical and has been in the optical field for eighteen years. Her favorite part of assisting people with eyewear is the fashion! Eyewear doesn't have to be boring and Courtney loves helping patients make a statement. She also loves helping children and patients who struggle with colorblindness.

Courtney and her family have a small farm of draft horses and sheep. Her three children keep her busy with showing horses and sports. They are her pride and joy!

John Bruening grew up in Montville, attending Ledgemont HS. After graduating, he served in the US Air Force while stationed in Korea and Florida. He then earned a degree in Ophthalmic Theory and Dispensing from Hillsborough College in Tampa.

John has been a licensed optician since 1987, is president of the Opticians Association of Ohio (OAO), past vice president of the Opticians Association of America(OAA), and serves on the Ohio Leadership Council for the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB). He consults to opticianry, optometry, and ophthalmology practices in PA, NC, and Florida, and mentors entrepreneurs across the US.

What John enjoys most about opticianry is the balance between eye healthcare an fashion. “Geneva Optical and Geauga Vision carry frames that are not available anywhere else in the country. Bringing new and exciting styles to NE Ohio, is one of the best parts of this profession.”

When not at work, John and his wife Peggy, enjoy traveling, biking the Greenway Trail, kayaking, hiking, or just sitting on the front porch of their small farm in Mesopotamia.

Dawn is a native of Ashtabula, and except for a short time when she lived in the beautiful state of Texas, has lived there her entire life.

She has been in the optical field for six years, and loves being part of the experience of assisting people as they choose just the right look for their eyewear, and the joy of helping people see. She stated, “The most gratifying moment is when a child puts their glasses on for the first time, and seeing the smile form on their face when they see the world clearly for the first time.”

When Dawn is not working she spends most of her time with Tucker, her faithful Labradoodle, playing board games, laughing, camping, and spending time with her family. She attends Eagleville Bible Church in Rock Creek.

Dawn’s motto is, “Your future is bright; I can help you see it."
